• Aztolet Tablet works by increasing the amount of glucose taken up from food into cells by facilitating its passage across cell membranes through the action of metformin which also improves sensitivity to insulin in peripheral tissue thus reducing glucose production by liver cells and lowering postprandial glucose concentrations.
The glibenclamide component increases sensitivity to sulfonylureas at target sites thus stimulating β-cell membrane potassium channels which releases stored insulin into circulation thus promoting glucose uptake into cells causing hypoglycemia after meals thereby decreasing β-cell workload ultimately improving glycemic control against long term exposure of hyperglycemic conditions caused by Type II Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).
